Traveling is an experience. It is an exhilarating and liberating journey that has a lot of little things that we could learn from. One of the things I discovered is the value of travel skin care. Our skin is exposed to different climates by just jumping on and off our chosen mode of transport. From the various temperatures, wind on our faces and sun exposure, not to mention some restrictions on the boarding of liquids on planes, is very important. Shopping for skin care in our destinations doesn’t cut it all the time. That is why I have sum up 3 broad skin care products we can bring.
After cleansing, facial serums that come in various formulations serve as the food of our skin. It has vitamins that should be the first in our skin care. Although this is not widely used, we should always start with this.
Personally, I am not usually applying this but since I tried Clarins Lift-Affine Visage Serum that I use to contour the puffy parts of my face, I’ve learned to include this on my skin care. There are lots of serums out there to choose from varying on their skin benefits.
Facial Moisturizer + Sunscreen
I love moisturizers. This is very important for those who have dry skin, but this is a must for everybody. Since I have combination skin that really changes with every degree of the temperature, I brought 3 products for travel:
- Clinique Moisture Surge Intense for that very dry spots.
This is for the very dry spots in my face that I get from too much cold weather or after swimming. It comes in a gel-cream form in a small container which can be very handy.
- Celeteque Advanced Anti-Aging Facial Moisturizer with SPF 15
This is my everyday moisturizer, from the anti-aging effects to having a little bit of sunscreen. I usually use when I stay at home.
- Biore UV Perfect Milk with SPF 50+
For me, this is a complete package when I go out. It is a moisturizing milk with a high amount of sunscreen plus it has a mattifying effect which is perfect to prevent an oily face when I go about. Perfect as the moisturizer below your make up to prevent it from running down.
There are lots of moisturizers in the market to choose from so just be wise in looking for the perfect one for your skin care needs.
Lotion + Sunscreen
Lotions moisturize the rest of our bodies. It is important to moisturize every part, paying attention to every exposed part. This skin care product is my first love. I love the gentle creams when I am just at home and the ones with sunscreen when I go out.
In my travels, I brought a big bottle since I love indulging my skin with lotion. This is a whitening lotion with sunscreen (SPF 50) that is great if you go to tropical countries. It also has this lemony scent and does not get sticky in humid climates.
Thing is, not all lotions are alike. Some could get sticky when you sweat. Some do not moisturize the skin at all when you need it. It is important that you test your lotion first before you bring it to your travels.
Now, all of these would surely take some weight in your bags so I will leave it to you how much skin care to take with you when traveling or simply going out.
